Description:

Madison General Ordinance Section 36.03 - The Broadband Telecommunications Regulatory Board is a group of citizens appointed by the mayor to advise on issues relating to cable & broadband communications. The BTRB works with the City Cable Coordinator to review the performance of cable franchisee; mediate disputes or complaints; assure that pertinent reports/information are available to the public; advise on franchise selection, renewal and transfer; monitor performance of the public access and govt channels; serve as resource on allocation of franchise fee & other funds to the public & govt access channels. The BTRB serves as a venue to air issues of importance to the citizens of Madison regarding cable service, and to encourage cable operators' performance in the service of the city and its public. COMMITTEE DISSOLVED WHEN CHAPTER 36 WAS REPEALED. ORD-08-00106, ID 11402, adopted 9-18-2008.
