WATER UTILITY BOARD
In addition to a recommendation from the Board of Health, Mayer and Standridge wanted education on the issue including a presentation of the pros and cons. Dr. Schlenker said the Board of Health would ask the Department of Health to develop the education because they have the expertise. The Department could provide information about both the benefits and risks. A motion was made by Melton, seconded by Mayer, to refer to the Board of Health and request they review the current policy of fluoridation of the public water supply and provide a recommendation regarding the continuation of the policy, the recommended level, and whether any special warnings are required for at-risk groups. The motion passed by voice vote.
