Notes: The Landmarks Commission recommends that the Schubert Building at 120 West Mifflin Street be designated a landmark on the grounds that it meets criterion 3 of the City of Madison General Ordinances (33.19(4)a. Namely, that it embodies “the distinguishing characteristics of an architectural type specimen, inherently valuable for a study of a period, style, method of construction, or of indigenous materials or craftsmanship,” as a representative and unusually intact example of a small Queen Anne commercial building, designed by noted architect, Ferdinand Kronenberg.
