COMMON COUNCIL ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITTEE
A motion was made by Webber, seconded by Konkel, to RECOMMEND TO COUNCIL TO ADOPT - REPORT OF OFFICER Ald. Austin King distributed a handout of material re: divestment from the Sudan (attached to this Legislative File). Ald. King noted that several states have divested or are in the process of divestment of funds from companies that directly or indirectly support genocide in Sudan. He noted that the UW Board of Regents voted to divest funds on August 18, 2006. The motion passed by acclamation.
